I was born in the year of grace, 1980, in Suceava, a town wrapped in the fresh air of Bukovina, a land where tradition and modernity intertwine in a subtle, charming dance. My roots stretch far, with my mother hailing from Botoșani and my father from Galați. My father, a learned mathematics professor, has been teaching at the prestigious "Ștefan cel Mare" National College since 1979. My mother, dedicated to the museum sciences, concluded her career as a respected conservator at the County Museum of Bucovina, bringing to light forgotten treasures of our past.I spent much of my childhood in the countryside, in the village of Rediu, Botoșani County, under the care of my grandparents and aunts, all esteemed teachers. There, in the shadow of old trees, I found refuge in reading and reflection, finding peace in nature. This passion for nature's tranquility remains a constant in my otherwise hectic life.My favorite cities are diverse and cosmopolitan: Bucharest, Suceava, Sinaia, New York, and Dubai. Each has offered me a unique perspective on the world, enriching my life experience.In middle and high school, I ventured into the world of sports, trying my luck in fitness and basketball. Although I never excelled in these fields, I found personal satisfaction in them, guided by the principle, "If you do not want me, I want you," from Lăpușneanu. From my paternal grandmother, I learned that the anthem only sings for first place, a lesson that spurred me to rank first at the best high school in Suceava after a summer of intense study at her house. I graduated high school with top honors, although I was not the valedictorian. National math competitions played a significant role in my education, but my true passion remained literature.In the tenth grade, I had an extraordinary experience, studying in France. I flew from Suceava to Bucharest and then to Paris, from where I took the TGV to Lyon. The dizzying speed of 270 km/h and the impressive infrastructure left me in awe and convinced me that we, too, could aspire to Western infrastructure.America welcomed me many times, especially during my tenure as Secretary of State and Director at McGuireWoods. I am married to Cristina, an exceptional professional coach, also from Tecuci like my father, and together we have a 7-year-old daughter, our greatest achievement.This year, I turn 44, and life has blessed us with parents still alive for both me and my wife. We live near the center of Bucharest, our sisters and nephews are well, and our friends are close.Professionally, I will not rest until I build a team of public affairs professionals that will change the face of Romania. I want my people to live well now, to have good salaries, and to be respected for their careers. Our mission is to bring a new breath to our country and beyond.
