Sneek? Real? Are we going to talk about Sneek? Yes, certainly! Because of all the Frisian towns, we think Sneek is probably the nicest. Because historic, cozy, there is water in the city and the countryside, and the Snekermeer, are just around the corner. What more could a person want? Well... A nice place to sleep, to drink a beer, to have lunch and to have a drink, please. Okay, that's good. The best thing in Sneek, at your service!

Admittedly, that title sounds like a bad takeaway for soggy white sandwiches, but nothing could be further from the truth! Just outside the center of Sneek (cross a bridge, not a huge walk - after all, we are in small Sneek) you will find Generously Invested. And Royaal Belegd Sneek is actually a very nice living room where people eat, drink coffee and chat. If you come on a Sunday morning, you will find a tent packed to the rafters with people in sports suits, helmets and cleated shoes, as a weekly cycling route starts here that day)
On the map? healthy choices such as Acaibowls and pokepowls. Don't worry: there are also 'normal' pancakes, bouncers and more. Everything, including the coffee, is Fairtrade and sustainably sourced. The people behind the oh-so-nice Stadslogement Westersingel Sneek, see above, were a bit busy. Because more people, just like us, find Sneek a wonderful base for the weekend. So busy that they had more requests than rooms. When a new building became available a few doors down the road, the couple running the business didn't have to think long: the building was bought, renovated, and a second accommodation address was opened (see below). On the ground floor the 'hobby room' of the master of the house became a real beer café. In the most tasteful way possible, of course. Biercafé 3B became the name, nice and clear too, where you can drink 25 beers on tap and another 200 beers from the bottle, including many regional beers. Of course, accompanied by better beer dishes such as a hearty burger and small tapas-style bites. Fancy a beer tasting? Biercafe 3B is your man.

It should come as no surprise that this second place to stay in Sneek is located above the beer café: what's in a name.
A top location, spacious and fresh rooms and a hospitable welcome. Guests from Stadslogement Westersingel, 3 doors away, sit down for breakfast.

This Kezen section starts at less than a five-minute walk along the water from the accommodation address Stadslogement Westersingel. Keep the water on and you can't miss the slightly quaint café-restaurant. Because indeed, the brown bar with restaurant may look a bit dated, but make no mistake: the interior is atmospheric and also has incredibly good food and drinks. Not surprising when you consider that the chef... The Copper Kees not so long ago took over for years cooking at, mind you, De Librije. Among other things. You understand: the charm offensive from the kitchen has started, and an upgrade of the rest of the place is being worked on. Slowly but surely, that's a promise.

Then the other Kees, By Kees (pronounced - of course - in Frisian as 'bie Kees'), is of a completely different order, namely a lunch and coffee café as they were not used to in tough Heerenveen. Think Randstad, with its trendy lightness, lush vegetation, metro tiles, concrete floor, fruit in baskets casually on top and tree trunk tables against a long white sofa. And all just an arrowshot from Tialf.

It's best when the sun is shining, as the guys at Foodbar BUUR in Sneek simply created a real city beach in front of their own door. But you can also join us the rest of the year, especially if you fancy some colorful goodies
